Home for the Holidays Exhibit
I will have work in an exhibit titled Home for the Holidays at the Lost Coast Culture Machine in Fort Bragg, California. Home for the Holidays celebrates the season of friends, family, warm hearths and giving by focusing on the overlooked and forgotten.
Laurel Garcia Colvin presents the new American toile, where the haves and have-nots picnic and while away the hours together. Leigh Van Duzer imagines the housing crash frame-by-frame on the way down, Elizabeth Duffy creates the epitome of safe and secure living, and Jeremiah Jenkins renders scale models of the ideal in dispossessed housing. The Counter Narrative Society will come bearing the imprisoned on their backs and Detroit’s Object Orange will turn forgotten eyesores into eyesores begging for swift destruction.
During the run of the exhibition, LCCM will be serving as a donation hub for The Fort Bragg Food Bank, The Outdoor Store’s annual Warm Coat Drive, and sleeping bags and blankets for the Evergreen United Methodist Church. LCCM and its artists will also be donating a portion of all sales to Habitat for Humanity of Mendocino Coast, Critical Resistance, and All of Us or None.

My image Lift has been published on Bomb Magazine's Blog as an accompanying image to the current issue of Phoned-In.
Phoned-In is a brilliant project curated by Luke Degnan. He calls poets on the phone, the poets read their work into the phone, and Luke records it. He publishes the readings on Bomblog, with a short interview.
The current issue presents the poet Mairéad Byrne. Mairéad emigrated from Ireland to the United States in 1994, for poetry. Her books include The Best of (What’s Left of) Heaven (Publishing Genius 2010), Talk Poetry (Miami University Press 2007), SOS Poetry (/ubu Editions 2007), and Nelson and The Huruburu Bird (Wild Honey Press 2003). She lives in Providence and teaches at Rhode Island School of Design.

I have been awarded a fellowship for the Vermont Studio Center in September for four weeks.
VSC is in far northern Vermont, which should be just gorgeous in autumn. It's a large campus in a small town with about 40 residents each month, and it sounds like an active yet peaceful place to make work.
I am really looking forward to this experience. In my first year out of grad school, it'll be important to connect with other artists from all over the country.

Opening: Precedent: A Contemporary Survey of Fine Arts Through PennDesign
I have work in a show titled Precedent, which takes place during Penn's Homecoming Weekend and brings together alumni and current students from PennDesign's MFA program. The current MFA students selected alums from a range of years, seeking to find someone whose work had a natural dialogue with their own. The result is a fascinating exhibition showcasing the rich tradition of fine arts at PennDesign and the relevance of that history to work of students today. My piece was paired with one of Diane Burko's (MFA '69).
